Hello, I'm Alex Ramirez!
I'm a mid-20's cartoonist, sewing enthusiast, and illustration student from Denver, Colorado.
I've been making art since childhood, but really started taking it seriously as a career option when I was a teenager, taking part in several student art shows and university art programs. I'm currently working freelance, and alongside commissions and other client work, I have personal projects I make just for the love of making art.
My inspirations range from the mundane to the fantastical! Some include:

My current major project is a long-running webcomic named Zyra Slash, but other projects include side-comics, animatics, and clothing/plush projects.

Webcomic
Zyra Slash is a long-form sci-fi webcomic with a comedic twist on both alien tropes and 2000's-era high school media as well as a heartwarming story about growing up, learning your worth, and friendship.
The story is about Zyrathen "Zyra" Slash, a young member of an alien race known as the "Djragoni" volunteering for a perilous rite-of-passage ceremony. Tasked with blending in with a faraway society and befriending the natives, the journey takes him to a strange foreign world named "Earth". There, he meets a impish human girl named Rain, who offers to take him under her wing and teach him the ropes of her home and her people.
After fitting him with a disguise, Rain takes Zyra to the best place available one could learn about other young humans: public American high school. There he meets other young humans, from thick-headed jocks to moody goths to snotty preps and every other MTV trope in between.
